Nabesna Road is a 42-mile bumpy stretch of gravel road between Slana and Nabesna, Alaska. It is one of only two roads that access the Wrangell-St.Elias National Park. Hop in your 4WD vehicle (you’ll need it to splash through several creeks that cross the road) and enjoy the Mentasta Mountains and plentiful wildlife you’ll encounter along the drive. I created this map in a whimsical style to accompany a travel feature in the February/March 2016 issue of Country magazine.
