This is my attempt at an orthographic projection of the Earth’s south pole. I created this map to be used as the centerpiece for a larger project which depicts the world’s penguin species. What began as a very simple map quickly turned into quite an exciting deep dive into the complex interplay of continents, islands, oceans, currents and ice floes of this vast region.
