This is a 2-part grayscale map of the entire range (historic and present day) of the Jaguar (Panthera onca), created specifically for the second printing of Heart of the Jaguar: The Extraordinary Conservation Effort to Save the Americas’ Legendary Cat, by author James Campbell and published by W.W. Norton & Company. “Once indigenous to North America, the jaguar is one of the wildest creatures left on the planet, a resilient and efficient predator, with a natural habitat that extends throughout Mexico and Central and South America. But today, one million years after it appeared in the New World, the jaguar is struggling to survive. It has disappeared entirely from Uruguay and El Salvador, and is critically endangered across much of its range.”

Heart of the Jaguar was released without a map, but after further consideration the publisher agreed that the second printing required it. I was thrilled that they decided to do so! Highly recommended for nature and wildlife lovers, order a copy here.
