The Eastern Massasauga (pronounced mass-uh-SAW-ga) is one of 2 venomous snakes in Wisconsin and the surrounding Great Lakes region. It is a small, heavy-bodied snake that is so shy and secretive in the wet floodplain forests and meadows that very few will actually ever encounter one. Still, being an Endangered Species in the state, it is important to be aware of them and their need for protection. I made this infographic-style map in an effort to spread the word about this splendid snake.
