Map of Attack on Pearl Harbor – 12/7/18

It was 77 years ago today that the Japanese bombed the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This map, based on a Japanese original, shows the two waves of warplanes that descended on Oahu and Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. The sneak attack forced the United States into joining the Allies in World War II. In total, 2,335 American servicemen were killed and 1,143 were wounded. Eighteen ships were sunk or run aground, including five battleships. All of the Americans killed or wounded during the attack were non-combatants, as there was no state of war when the attack occurred. (Source: Wikipedia.com)
