After watching the 2022 documentary, Tiger 24, I was inspired to make this graphic — depicting his handsome face, maps of his home and a notation of his family lineage. He was a son, a father, a brother and a mate. His story is most well-known in India, but his legacy deserves to be known around the world.
Ustad (which means “The Master”) was a dominant male tiger in India’s Ranthambore National Park. “The film explores the intense controversy surrounding the tiger after he was accused of killing a human and removed from the wild to live in a zoo enclosure.” He lived 10 years free and the last 7 years of his life was spent in captivity. He died from bone cancer.
