Mapping a Drone Strike – 6/21/19

This has been a turbulent week for U.S.-Iranian relations, as Iran has been accused by the United States of shooting down an American drone plane over international waters. Iran, however, maintains that the plane was over their airspace and therefore they were justified in shooting it down. Who is right? This map was released by the Pentagon to show where we say the incident occurred, versus Iran’s account. Yet another example of how vitally important maps are in making sense of our world!
